Industrial HMI Solutions
With up-time and reliability key to business operations, equipment manufacturers and operators need ruggedised display hardware capable of performing in the harshest environments whilst providing accurate & essential information keeping equipment operating around the clock.
Our CANvu range of CAN bus displays are well suited for use with construction machinery, off-highway vehicles, mining equipment, agricultural & heavy plant machinery. With custom software supporting industrial standards and IoT telematics features CANvu displays are the ideal HMI solution for control and monitoring functions within trucks, sprayers, excavators, and loaders to name but a few.
With larger screen sizes up to 7″, modern usability standards can be incorporated into the HMI design making powerful and efficient operator interfaces. Add to that Telematics functionality and that same information can be relayed to maintenance and scheduling teams globally.
Software Standards Compliance
Our CAN displays are capable of reading J1939, NMEA 2000, CANopen protocols and can be developed for proprietary systems. Cummins Tier 4 Final approved ‘off the shelf’ J1939 engine monitoring software is available as a standard option, however as most customers require a bespoke application an SDK is available for software self-build, or our inhouse engineering team can develop to your specification. Projects supporting Tier 4, Stage V and Reverse Camera requirements are within capabilities.
Being IP66 & 67 rated, operating in temperatures down to -40°C up to +70°C and fully daylight readable, the displays are suitable for installation both inside and outside the operator cabins.
The CANvu display range has screen sizes from 2.3″ up to 7″, button & touch screen options, and support external CAN bus keypads, joysticks and rotary encoders.
With equipment in the field, getting real time information such as low fuel levels, or altering to signs of operator misuse can be critical. Depending on your requirements our displays can log to the millisecond all data or just the most critical/event/alarm based data, transmitting that log through an internet connection to a cloud based server. This data can be used in its raw format with a simple CSV download mechanism or integrate into a full web interface portal with email or text alert triggering.
CANvu Display Features:
- Monitors J1939 & CANopen CAN-based messages & alarms
- Ability to add proprietary messages & alarms
- Day and night functions
- Support for Analogue & Digital senders
- Offers easy integration into most third-party CAN-based systems
- External CAN keypad or rotary encoders offered
- Software Development Kit (SDK) allows full programming using ‘C/C++’ language
- Hardware customisation available – volume dependant
CANvu displays are used by OEM’s including Engine Manufacturers across the globe. For more technical information, or to discuss your project requirements please get in touch.
Joy Global - (Komatsu)
Whilst operating in the rugged and demanding environment of deep underground coal extraction, Joy Mining South Africa identified a need to upgrade to next levels of performance the controls used to monitor and operate their range of machines.
It was critical that the displays used had the ability to be customised to specific parameters, supporting diverse and proprietary messages unique to their range of machines. The CANvu 355 was selected for its ability to operate in harsh environments while displaying key information clearly.
Working closely with Joy’s engineering team, CANtronik were able to develop the software application to requirements which gave Joy a bespoke solution meeting their exact needs.
Prime Horizontal, an international company specializing in drilling long distances horizontally beneath the earth’s surface using complex drilling rigs and steerable drill bits.
The ParaTrack-2 from Prime Horizontal is a magnetic tracking system using state of the art electronics with very advanced magnetic tracking capabilities and features the CANvu 260 as an integral part of the sophisticated ParaTrack-2.
Prime Horizontal selected the CANvu 260 for its outstanding durability, vital as the equipment is operated on site in a wide variety of environmental conditions. As well as its ability to be configured to capture accurately and consistently the unique ranges of data required, the key feature of the HMI was to cleary display the data on the multiple operator selected screen configurations.
harnTRONICS provides wiring harness assemblies, battery cables, and turn key solutions in the field of complete vehicle solutions to the automotive, off highway vehicle, and electronics industry; being flexible to customer’s requirements and improving their current performance.
harnTRONICS commented that, “the team at CANtronik really showed commitment and professionalism by assisting us to meet our customer’s deadline. The customer is very satisfied with the product and might be looking at doing more developments in the near future. The unit is one of the most flexible available to the South African Market having a lot of capabilities to upgrade as customer requirements change.”
